Seminar Description
Analytical Chemistry is concerned with providing qualitative and quantitative information about the chemical and structural composition of a sample of matter. A huge variety of samples, from high concentrations of elements in alloy steels to part-per-billion levels of drugs in biological tissue, are handled by the analyst. The field is founded on the conversion of a measured physical property of the species being examined to a usable signal. It is generally divided into two categories, classical and instrumental, on the basis of its historical development. The overall strategy is to prepare a sample correctly, choose a particular method of analysis, and report the results in a meaningful format, which may include a statistical evaluation.

This seminar takes you from the foundations of analytical science to state-of-the-art techniques and instrumentation. The seminar covers general analytical chemistry and instrumental analysis.

Carefully chosen worked examples show you how analytical problems can effectively be solved and how calculations should be performed. Study questions and recommended reading for further study are provided within the seminar

Seminar Objectives
Upon the successful completion of this seminar, participants will be able to:-

  • Acquire insight and skills in general qualitative and quantitative analytical chemistry

  • Teach basic analytical principles and training preparation to instrumental, electrochemical, spectroscopic and separationally-oriented analysis.

  • Know the concept of visual spectrometry and become aware with its qualitative and quantitative analysis

  • Determine the practical application of atomic absorption spectrometry

  • Develop in-depth knowledge about electro-chemical analysis and differentiate absolute conductivity from cation conductivity

  • Understand the principle of analytical reaction chemistry by discussing the theory of titrimetry & gravimetry, identifying buffers, describing visual & electro-mechanical indication and identifying the other types of titrations

  • Become familiar with the theory of gas chromatography including colums and detectors and identify the effect of temperature and flow on analysis

  • Describe special water chemistry which includes total carbon, total organic & inorganic carbon & ion chromatography and recognize its importance in analytical chemistry & process analyzers

Training Methodology
This interactive training seminar includes the following training methodologies as a percentage of total tuition hours:-

50% Lectures
30% Seminars, Group Work & Practical Exercises
20% Videos, Software & Case Studies

Who Should Attend
Laboratory Managers, Supervisors, Chemists, Analysts and Technicians. Further, the seminar is a must for Instrumentation personnel who are dealing with laboratory equipment and online process instruments and analyzers

Seminar Accreditation
Haward Technology’s courses/workshops/seminars meet the professional certification and continuing education requirements for participants seeking Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in accordance with the rules & regulations of the International Association for Continuing Education & Training (IACET). IACET is an international authority that evaluates programs according to strict, research-based criteria and guidelines. The CEU is an internationally accepted uniform unit of measurement in qualified courses of continuing education.

Haward Technology has been approved as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 8405 Greensboro Drive, Suite 800, McLean, VA 22102, USA. In obtaining this approval, Haward Technology has demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET Standards which are widely recognized as standards of good practice internationally. As a result of our Authorized Provider membership status, Haward Technology is authorized to offer IACET CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standards.

Haward Technology Middle East will award 3.0 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) for participants who completed the total tuition hours of this program. One CEU is equivalent to ten Professional Development Hours (PDHs) or ten contact hours of the participation in and completion of Haward Technology programs. A permanent record of a participant’s involvement and awarding of CEU will be maintained by Haward Technology. Haward Technology will provide a copy of the participant’s CEU Transcript of Records upon request.
