Seminar Description
Advanced petroleum reservoir management has received significant attention in recent years. Various panel, forum, seminar and technical sessions have provided the framework for information sharing and the exchange ideas concerning many practical aspects of reservoir management.

This seminar provides many advanced tools & techniques to help address the challenges of providing a more reliable and sound reservoir management. In addition to a wealth of classic information on the concepts and processes involved in reservoir management, the seminar presents new insights about data acquisition, reservoir performance analysis & forecast, reservoir management economics and improved recovery processes. Further, the seminar is illustrated through a number of case studies which will be shown to the participants to help them appreciate the concepts presented in the seminar.

The participants will enhance their capabilities to manage their assets by utilizing proven management process and practice, and integrating the technologies, tools, data and activities of the multidisciplinary professionals. They will also gain experience in working together as an integrated team on their own projects in a workshop environment.

Seminar Objectives
Upon the successful completion of this seminar, the participants should be able to:

  • Have a very good understanding of the advanced petroleum reservoir management concepts and its process

  • Learn reservoir data acquisition, analysis and management including the data types, validation and application

  • Illustrate the reservoir model including its role, engineering & integration and be able to introduce the advanced technology in reservoir estimation and classifications

  • Review & improve the applications & analysis of reservoir drive mechanisms

  • Perform reservoir surveillance and understand reservoir performance analysis & forecast

  • Know the integration of production/injection data, log data, pressure data and any subsurface data for analysis and become aware of their importance in advanced petroleum reservoir management

  • Understand reservoir management economics including its criteria and present sample scenarios & data for economic evaluation

  • Become familiar with the management input and output system and be able to identify the various improved recovery processes used in advanced petroleum reservoir management

  • Analyze reservoir management case studies presented in the class and be able to learn reservoir management plans.
