Professor Arsenio Caceres


Professor Arsenio Caceres, PE, PhD, MSc, BSc, is a Senior Civil & Construction Engineer with over 30 years of extensive experience. He is an expert in Structural Reliaility, Road Construction, Pavement Design, Surface Drainage, Materials Engineering, Composite Structures, Damage Mechanisms, Concrete Technology and Structural Damage Assessment. Further, he is well adept in the areas of Engineering Analysis, Mechanics of Materials, Construction Materials, Composite Materials Application, Civil Engineering System Analysis, Dynamics and Reinforced Concrete Structures. He is currently the Professor of Civil Engineering and Surveying at the University of West Virginia (USA).

Professor Caceres’ career life was not only confined to academic but has achieved prestigious positions in Engineering industry such as a Senior Structural Engineer, Structural Designer, Process Control Engineer, Project Engineer and Senior Credit Analyst. During those periods, he was involved with the design and construction of large international projects wherein he designed structures, using wood, steel, concrete and other materials, including multi-story buildings, warehouses and bridges. Further, he was extensively involved with the management aspects by implementing production programming, control and coordinating operations.

Professor Caceres is a Registered Professional Engineer with PhD in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from the University of West Virginia, USA and at the same time he holds Master and Bachelor degrees in Civil Engineering.  Further, he  is a well-regarded member of prestigious organizations such as the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), American Concrete Institute (ACI), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Society for the Advancement of Materials and Process Engineering (SAMPE). Moreover, he has published numerous books and papers and delivered technical presentations in international conferences.
