Mr. David Brown


Mr. David Brown, PE, BSc, is a Senior HVAC Engineer with over 35 years of industrial experience. His specialization covers the Design, Fabrication, Installation of HVAC Component and Equipment, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, Engineering Drawings, Project and Control Management, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Duct Design and Installation, Industrial Building Preventive Maintenance, Control and Treatment. Further, his expertise also includes Blower and Fan Technology, Centrifugal Pumps and Troubleshooting, Humidification and Water Cooling, Modern Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning Systems, Mechanical Maintenance, Steam Trapping and Control, Design Ventilation Systems, Maintenance and Fault Finding of Central Air Conditioning Units and Chillers as well as HVAC Direct Digital Control (DDC). Mr. Brown is currently the Senior Mechanical Engineer of Cansult Maunsell/AECOM, where he spearheads the development of plans and specification for HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection for multimillion dollar projects in the Middle East.

During his career life, he worked as the Head of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering where he was in-charge of HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection, Design, Equipment Specifications, marketing and supervision of Junior Engineers and CAD Operators. Further, he also worked as an Instructor for courses on Building Environmental Certificate Program of Heating, Air Conditioning, Air Handling and Preventative Maintenance, Industrial Building Controls, Water Treatment, Energy Efficiency & Management in large buildings, Pipe System Design and Industrial Mechanics (Hydraulics, Pneumatics and Electricity). Consequently, he moved through a solid career line that brought him all over the USA, Canada and Middle East as a Project Engineer and lead engineer. His responsibilities covers heat loss and cooling load calculations, HVAC, fire protection and plumbing system designs, hydronic system design and layout, fan selection and evaluation, pump selection and evaluation, heat recovery system design, evaluation of IAQ problems, energy audits, equipment selection, chillers plant and steam plant design, review of shop drawings, preparation of specifications and the supervision of supporting engineers and draftsmen. Moreover, he has performed Quality Control and Conformance to Specifications for the University of Michigan and managed projects for the University of Western Ontario.

MrMr. Brown is a Registered Professional Engineer and has a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. Further, he is an associate member of American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineering (ASHRAE) and was the Chapter President of ASHRAE, Qatar for 10 years. Moreover, he has produced several publications and had given major presentations on Psychrometrics, Mechanical Submittals and Gas Venting for numerous seminars and conventions like ASHRAE CRC, Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning Contractors National Association (SMACNA) and the American Society for Precision Engineering (ASPE) Convention in various countries around the world.
