Dr. Alan McIver


Dr. Alan McIver, PhD, MSc, BSc, is a Senior Process Engineer with over 40 years of indepth industrial experience within the  Utilities, Refinery, Petrochemical and Oil & Gas companies dealing with Process Safety Engineering, Production Management, Flare, Blowdown and Control, Protection & Relief Systems, Fluid Mechanics, Pump Technology, Cryogenic Pumping, Compressor & Turbine Operation, Maintenance & Troubleshooting, Water Desalination, Distillation Technology, Root Cause Analysis, Dry Gas Seal, Oil & Gas Processing, Refineries, Synthetic Fuel, Fertilizers, Plastic, Synthetic Rubber, Polymer, Polyethylene, Polypropylene and PVC. He has great involvement and specializes in all facets of Production Operations including troubleshooting, Productivity, Start-up, Shutdown, Turn-around, feasibility studies, techno-economic analysis, strategic analysis & technological risk evaluation, research & development, project planning, management, implementation and start-ups of process systems. Further, his wide experience covers Boiler Water Treatment Technology, Oily Water Treatment Technology, Water Desalination, MSF, MED and RO Desalination.

Dr. McIver is currently the Managing Director of a prestigious company actively involved in the chrome chemicals, where he is responsible for all aspects of the development including project evaluation, research, board proposals, project implementation and start-ups.  

Previously, he had occupied several significant positions with different international companies, like being the General Manager, the Operations Manager, Production Manager, Plant Manager, Field Manager, and Process Engineer where he dealt with a wide variety of industries and process development and troubleshooting.

Dr. McIver has PhD, Master and Bachelor degrees in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University (USA) and a Diploma on Executive Development Programme.
