Dr. Jaralla Abdul


Dr. Jaralla Abdul, PhD, MSc, BSc, is a Senior Corrosion & Metallurgical Engineer with over 35 years of extensive experience in Cathodic Protection Systems, Corrosion Control & Corrosion Monitoring, Metallurgy & Metallurgical Processes, Corrosion Inhibitor, Corrosion Prevention, Corrosion Assessment and Condition Monitoring & Assessment. His wide range of industrial experience also covers Subsea Fuel Design, Evaluation of Biocides, Industrial and Reinforced Steel Bar, Oil Sludge Bioremediation and Heavy Metals Fixation, Asbestos Treatment, Industrial Waste Treatment & Management, Water Injection Treatment, Heat Transfer, Performance Monitoring and Material Selection. Currently, he is the Director of GLS Limited which is the leading producer and manufacturer of corrosion inhibitors in New Zealand.

During Dr. Jaralla’s  career life, he has gained his practical and theoretical expertise not only in technical fields but also in academe through various challenging and key positions such as the General Manager, Industrial Consultant, Corrosion Department Head, Corrosion Discipline Head, Project Manager, Plant Manager, Senior Corrosion Engineer, Lead Corrosion Engineer, Associate Professor, Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer in various international companies and universities such as the Petrofac Emirates, Mott MacDonald Group, Shell, WhisperGen, CORMET, Surface Technology, Steel Masters, Saudi Aramco, ADMA-OPCO, TAKREER, ADNOC, ZADCO, ADCO, Fujairah Power Plant, DUSUP, ARAMCO, Qatar Petroleum, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Oil, Jordan Army Force, Jordan University, University of Technology and many more.

Dr. Jaralla has PhD in Corrosion Engineering and Master & Bachelor degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester (UK). He is a Corrosion Specialist of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE-USA), a Fellow Member of the Institute of Corrosion (UK) and an active member of the American Society for Metals (ASM-USA) and the Australian Corrosion Society (ACS-New Zealand). Further, he has been honoured and included in the “Who’s Who in Science and Engineering” and he has developed 9 patents like the “Design of Corrosion Testing Apparatus”, “Scale Removal and Composition of Corrosion Inhibitor”, “Corrosion Inhibitor for Reinforced Steel Structures”, “Improving in and Relating to Extraction or Treatment Methods” to name a few. Moreover, he is an inventor of a very safe and feasible technology for demining contaminated lands.
