Mr. John Kakis, MEng, BEng, is a Senior Electrical Engineer with over 20 years of extensive experience. His expertise includes Combined Cycle Power Plant, Power Plant & Substation, Power System Protective Relaying, AC/DC, Power Generation & Transmission, Power Distribution, Steam Generators, Generator Protection Relays, Circuit Breakers, LV/MV/HV Switchgears, Transformers, Capacitor Banks, AVR, Generator Excitation System, Substation Automation & Protection System, Network Communication, Data Communication, Electrical Control Circuits & Equipment, Electrical Engineering Design, Electrical Drawing & Wiring, Electrical Fault Analysis, Power Flow Analysis, Load Flow Analysis & Short Circuit Calculation for Power Network Design & Operations. Furthermore, he is also well-versed in PLC, DCS, MicroSCADA, RTU System, ABB & Siemens, Insulation Coordination using ATP-EMTP Software, Relay Coordination using NEPLAN Software, ABB PCM600 Software, Protection & Control Relays using ABB Series and Gas Lift System.

Presently, Mr. Kakis is the Commissioning Manager of MGK Technical Services.  Prior to this, he gained his thorough practical experience through several positions as the Electrical Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, Electrical Engineering Head, Electrical Commissioning Head Quality Control Head Department, Quality Assurance Head, Safety Engineer and Test Field Engineer of various international distribution and power transformer companies such as the ALSTOM, ABB, Electronomia, J&P Avax and Aktor SA.

Mr. Kakis has Master and Bachelor degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Thessaloniki and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki respectively.  He further published several books on Power and Distribution Transformers and delivered various trainings and workshops worldwide.
