Course Description

This practical and highly-interactive course includes practical sessions and demonstration where participants carryout fall arrest operations. Theory learnt in the class will be applied using fall arresters during climbing the monkey ladder. This course is designed to meet the requirement of current health and safety regulations within the petrochemical and but has equal focus in the general industry where personnel are required to carryout their tasks at heights and/or in an ?at risk area?. It will provide participants with an understanding of their responsibilities when working in areas where fall hazards exist, the use of and inspection of the required equipment and the critical controls necessary to reduce the risk of a fall. The course is also designed to train the trainer to meet the requirement of the correct and safe use of fall arrester (protection) equipment legislated by Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA) and is focused on their correct and safe use; the systematic method of inspection, storing and maintenance of the fall arresters; the proper use of fall protection equipment in accordance with safety rules and regulations.

In an unlikely event, the course instructor may modify the above training methodology before or during the course for technical reasons.

VIRTUAL TRAINING (IF APPLICABLE)

If this course is delivered online as a Virtual Training, the following limitations will be applicable

Certificates: Only soft copy certificates will be issued to participants through Haward’s Portal. This includes Wallet Card Certificates if applicable
Training Materials: Only soft copy Training Materials (PDF format) will be issued to participant through the Virtual Training Platform
Training Methodology: 80% of the program will be theory and 20% will be practical sessions, exercises, case studies, simulators or videos
Training Program: The training will be for 4 hours per day starting at 09:30 and ending at 13:30
H-STK Smart Training Kit: Not Applicable
Hands-on Practical Workshops: Not Applicable
Site Visit: Not Applicable
Simulators: Only software simulators will be used in the virtual courses. Hardware simulators are not applicable and will not be used in Virtual Training
