Course Description

This practical and highly-interactive course includes real-life case studies and exercises where participants will be engaged in a series of interactive small groups and class workshops. This course is designed to provide participants with a detailed and up-to-date overview of supply chain for oil and gas industry. It covers the logistics and supply chain management; the evolution of logistics to supply chain in the oil and gas industry; the different types of supply chain model; the impact of logistics in the current business environment; the supply chain operations reference models (SCOR); the total cost of ownership; the role of transportation in the energy sector; the key management decisions on shipping; and the international commercial terms in transportation. Further, the course will also discuss the implications on the liabilities and responsibilities on the shipper and importer; the documentation in transport management; the hazardous materials transportation; the differences between procurement and purchasing; the role of procurement and purchasing; the key performance indicators (KPI) in procurement; the supply chain risks mitigation in operations, inventory control, financial and security; managing the procurement process; and the supplier base using Kraljics Matrix.During this interactive course, participants will learn the categorization of spares inventory; the application of pareto law in inventory optimization; the ABC analysis to better control cost and waste; the selective inventory control management; the application of Kraljics Matrix in inventory categorization; reducing excess and obsolete inventory; how to improve organization?s logistics and supply chain; the blockchain technology; the implication of blockchain in log
